St. Theresa School in Kenilworth kicked off a simplified version of Relay for Life on Friday, May 12th. The American Cancer Society will have a Relay for Life on June 10-11 at Brearly High School. This event is meant to raise awareness about cancer and a fundraiser for The American Cancer Society for research. Students from PreK 3 to 8th grade wore purple ribbons and walked around the school collecting beads counting the number of times they went around the building.
The school parish has a team representing St.Theresa’s Church in which Luminaria Bags will be decorated in memory of someone who has deceased from cancer or in honor a survivor of the disease. Sr. Monique Haurt, FMA organized the walk for the children to participate in.
