5K RUN, 1-MILE FUN RUN TO BENEFIT REC DEPT

The Westfield Recreation Department will hold its annual 5K Run and 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk next month. “Run The Park” will take place on Sunday, May 21 at 9a.m. The event will start and end in Tamaques Park. The goal of the event is to get as many families as possible out and walking or running.
The 1-Mile Family Run/Walk encourages family participation from local residents of all ages and abilities, and the 5K race assures a more competitive venue. All proceeds assist in funding drug & alcohol-free programs offered by the Westfield Recreation Department throughout the year. Among them are the summer playground, camps, enrichment programs, events, and performances by The Westfield Community Concert Band.
The 1-Mile Fun Run/Walk will begin at 9 a.m., with the 5K Race beginning at 9:30 a.m. The registration table will be available starting 8 a.m. Register online at: www.RaceNJ.com. All pre-registered 5K runners can pick up their packets at The Westfield Running Company of 123 Quimby Street, Westfield on May 20. Packets can also be obtained at the Race Pre-Registration Table starting 8:00am the morning of the Race.
