BH VOLUNTEER RESCUE SQUAD OFFERS FREE COMMUNITY CPR CLASSES

May 21 to 27 is National EMS Week – a time to celebrate Emergency Medical Technicians (EMTs) and the important work they work do for our nation’s communities. The Berkeley Heights Volunteer Rescue Squad (BHVRS) can think of no better way to celebrate EMS Week than by teaching YOU, our community, life-saving skills. Join us for 1 hour CPR/AED classes on Sunday, May 21 at 1pm or Thursday, May 25 at 7:30pm.
Classes are free and will be held at the Rescue Squad (378 Snyder Ave). Participants (14 years and older) will learn the basics of hands-only CPR, use of the AED defibrillator, and how to assist choking victims (adults, adolescents and infants). You will be trained by our skilled, experienced CPR instructor, Bill Schulz, and our Squad members will be there to help too.
Learning CPR is easier than most people might expect. Effective, early bystander intervention through CPR for those having a cardiac event is what saves lives.
So take just an hour out of your busy schedule to give yourself the confidence to step out of your comfort zone and help someone – possibly a loved one – survive a sudden cardiac arrest.
To sign-up or for more information email: BHVRScommunityevents@gmail.com or phone: 908-464-1141.
BHVRS is always looking for new members – EMTs, non-EMT Auxiliary Members, and Cadets (16-18 year olds).
