On Saturday, September 3, 2016, Destination Beautiful, Inc. hosted a “Let’s Get Beautiful Day” for young teenage girls going back to schoolThis event was created to provide the girls an opportunity to receive a free hairstyle, manicure, pedicure, skin care lessons and back to school supplies. The event took place at Beauty and the Chic Hair studio located on Wood Avenue in Linden, NJ.This year marks the 2nd year the non-profit sponsored a “Let’s Get Beautiful Day.” The event allows for the organization to get close to community teenagers that may possibly be in need of financial support as well as emotional support to start the school year off. It is the organization’s goal to provide a confident, positive and exciting atmosphere for the attendees.
This year’s event included the following sponsors: Lord and Taylor of Willowbrook Mall, Cakeaholic Obsession, Mizz Pam’s Cuisine, Little Mrs Exquisite Event Planning. Individual sponsors included Lora McLeod, Ruth Parker, Amina Owens and Leslie Boles.
Destination Beautiful, Inc. is a New Jersey 501(c)(3) mentoring non-profit organization for young teenage girls between the ages of 12-17. The organization has been in existence for over three years now. It is their mission to Be Empowering and Uplifting to Young Girls (Beauty). Destination Beautiful’s key focus areas are empowerment, leadership, volunteerism, and scholarship.
