Dogs aren’t the only ones that need to t ake a dip in the pool to c ool off from the li ngering heat left over from our scorching summer. After the pool has been officially closed to people, for one-day the Summit Family Aquatic Center opens its doors for dogs to sw im, run, and in ter act with ot her neigh borhood dogs or dogs in the surrounding neighborhoods. The pool i s cl osed after Labor D ay and last year the Summit Community Programs organized the event, which w as w ell received b y the com munity. The pool welcomed 75 d ogs an d t hei r human companions in 2015 and because of how well the program worked this year 105 dogs were invitedThe times are split into three sections, with a time slot of about 45 minutes. The categories are small, medium, and large sized dogs. Unfortunately, due to the size of the pool the number of dogs allowed will not increase.
