The Rotary Club of Elizabeth, celebrating its 99th year of service to the Greater Elizabeth Community, is proud to feature a unique food-tasting event, The “Taste of Elizabeth X” on Monday, October 17th from 5PM to 8:30PM at the Renaissance Hotel, 1000 Spring Street, Elizabeth. The event is co-sponsored by the Greater Elizabeth Chamber of Commerce.
Explained Doug Harris, Chairman of this year’s Taste of Elizabeth, “Each year, the Taste of Elizabeth combines the Elizabeth area’s newest and most exciting restaurants, together with many popular traditional eateries. To have so many tempting selections all in one location, on one night, is truly outstanding.” He added, “The best part is the fact that all profits from the event is given to area charities by the Rotary Club of Elizabeth.” More than 40 restaurants, bakeries and beverage vendors will participate in this year’s tasting.
This year’s vendors include: Alvarez Café, Bayway Liquors, Beach Haus Beer, CATB Liquor Imports, Charles Jacquin Cie, Inc., Climax Brewing Company, Come Grow With Us Gardens, Don Felix Bar & Restaurant, Thomas A. Edison Academy Culinary Arts School, Eli’s Pizza Pasta, Elizabeth High School Interact Club – Sorbet Table, First Republic Restaurant and Lounge, Gallo Wine Sales of NJ, Garcia’s Liquor Depot, Garden Restaurant, Ipanema Restaurant, Leno’s Bar and Grill, Liberty Hall Museum, The Lobby, Nicastro Gourmet Sauces, Noches de Colombia, Noodlefan, Parador Rojo, Pied Piper Liquors, Pinho Bakery, Purity Vodka, Renaissance Newark Airport Hotel, Senor Sangria, ShopRite of Clark, Tequila Bistro, Torna a Sorrento, Tricolory Café & Restaurant, Trinitas Regional Medical Center, Tropicana Diner & Bakery, Tumi International Restaurant, Urban Griddle, Valenca Restaurant, and Yoly’s Cuban Café.
During Taste of Elizabeth X, guests will also be able to participate in a 50/50 raffle and a Tricky Tray silent auction. Funds raised from the event will enable the Rotary Club to continue to provide financial grants to local non-profit agencies and to provide college scholarships through the Albert & Louise Davis Scholarship Fund of the Rotary Club of Elizabeth, Inc. The Club is fulfilling a $10,000 pledge to the new Emergency Department at Trinitas Regional Medical Center.
