Cranford Fire Department Receives $1,000 Grant

The Cranford Fire Department is the proud recipient of a generous grant made possible by local agency owner Ron Murtha. Ron’s office, through The Allstate Foundation, sponsored an application by the Cranford Fire Department to the Foundation. Chief Czeh was on hand to accept the $1,000 grant at Fire Headquarters. “We’re so appreciative of Ron’s support and that of the Allstate Foundation” said Chief Czeh. The funding will be allocated to the Department’s comprehensive community risk reduction program. Specifically, the grant will support an initiative to supply smoke and carbon monoxide detectors to seniors and low-income residents of the Township. “We started the program last year and saw a lot of interest, and the continued need for it” said Chief Czeh.
Mr. Murtha has been a supporter of Cranford public safety in the past, most recently obtaining grants for the Cranford Police Department and Cranford First Aid Squad.
The Allstate Foundation invests in the local efforts of Allstate’s agency owners and employees, who are passionate about their communities and have a keen understanding of what they need most. In 2015, Allstate, together with its employees, agency owners and The Allstate Foundation gave $36 million to nonprofits across the nation and volunteered more than 250,000 hours. Since their founding in 1952, they’ve contributed more than $400 million.
