Solar-Powered Excellence at Warren Middle School

Warren Middle School 8th graders Esme Abbot, Anna Ramos, Eliana Sussner, and Sarah Young took first place with their solar car “The Millennium Pigeon” as best overall in the Junior Solar Sprin ts competition h eld on May 23 in Florh am Park, NJ. The girls p laced 1st in craft smanship, 1 st in engineering and 2nd in “Kids’ Choice.’
After months of designing, buildi ng and testi ng the M illenn ium Pigeon, the girls competed against fellow middle school students to advance to the inter-county finals. There, the Warren Middle School team won first place over 70 other contenders from surrounding counties, all vy ing fo r the chance to sho w off the ir innovative and expertly engineered efforts.
