Clark Volunteer Emergency Squad

The Clark Volunteer Emergency Squad was formed on December 7, 1941 and is preparing to celebrate its 75th anniversary. The organization was founded to provide emergency medical services to the residents of Clark and the surrounding communities. In addition to providing EMS coverage, the organization participates in community outreach and promotes proactive habits such as regular exercise and healthy diets to prevent medical emergencies.
Recent activities in support of EMS Week 2016 included an open house, first aid demonstrations, CPR training, blood pressure screenings and vials of life information (program that allows individuals to have their complete medical information ready in their home for emergency personnel to reference during an emergency).
The organization regularly provides standby coverage at community events such as the July 4th Fireworks display, high school football games, 5k runs, UNICO Italian American Feast and others. The membership is made up of different categories (e.g. active riding, cadets, drivers, honorary) to address the overall needs of the organization and to provide the best service to the community. Riding members receive continuing education to maintain certifications and stay current with EMS practices.
A great way to the help the organization and the community is to become a volunteer. Individuals can submit an application on our website at www.clarkems.org. For those who are unable to volunteer as a riding member, additional areas of support are also available.
The organization’s primary source of funding is donations from the community with support also provided by the Township. Donations are used to fund all aspects of the squad’s operations including, but not limited to, the purchase of medical supplies, purchase and upkeep of ambulances, uniforms, training, building utilities and insurance. The squad’s annual fund drive was recently mailed to all residents and businesses in Clark. We encourage all to donate to help the organization maintain its history of providing high-quality emergency medical services to the community.
The Clark Volunteer Emergency Squad is a registered New Jersey Charity (reg. No. CH1606700). In the memo section of your check write “public purposes” to qualify your donation as 100% tax-deductible under the 501(c)(3)status of our organization.
Donations can be mailed to Clark EMS, 875 Raritan Road, Clark, New Jersey, 07066. Any questions please call our non-emergency number (732)-388-0001.
