Fanwood First Responders Receive Knights of Columbus Awards

Fanwood police officers, firefighters and EMTs were honored on April 13th, at the annual Shield Awards presented by the Father John Nelligan Council of the Knights of Columbus based at St. Bartholomew The Apostle Church on Westfield Avenue.
The ceremony, conducted by Grand Knight Seth McQuillan, recognized many of Fanwood’s first responders for their outstanding service to our community. Fanwood Police Officers Kevin Stomber and Kathleen Case where recognized for successfully delivering a breach baby last August inside a home on Westfield Road. Fanwood’s entire Volunteer Fire Department was commended for its continuing service to the community, and Fanwood EMT Karolyn Buckridee was honored for her service to both the Fanwood Rescue Squad and the Scotch Plains Rescue Squad as well as her current enrollment in the Union County Fire Academy.
