Children in the Pre-K program at Congregation Beth Israel’s Religious School in Scotch Plains made 3-dimensional booklets containing The Four Questions (Ma Nishtana), which are traditionally recited by the youngest child during the Passover Seder. The Four Questions ask about the customs and foods associated with the Passover Seder that distinguish the holiday from the rest of the year.
Congregation Beth Israel’s Pre-K program, open to three and four-year-olds, meets monthly on Sunday mornings, and introduces children to Jewish holidays and Shabbat through art, storytelling, music, cooking and other age-appropriate activities. Synagogue membership is not required to enroll in the Pre-K program or in other Sunday School classes through second-grade. However, families with children below third grade now have the option of joining the synagogue at a reduced rate and enjoying full benefits of synagogue membership, including High Holiday tickets.
Congregation Beth Israel strives to create an accessible environment for all. The staff, teachers and volunteers are committed to ensuring access and meaningful participation by all members of the community.
Congregation Beth Israel is located at 18 Shalom Way, Scotch Plains, NJ (corner of Martine Avenue). For more information about the Religious School, contact Gail Beckman Buchbinder, Education Director of Congregation Beth Israel, at (908) 889-1830.
