Steam Museum Comes to Deerfield

Thanks to a generous grant from the Mountainside Education Association, fourth, fifth, and sixth grade students were able to participate in Mobile Ed Productions, Inc. STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Mathematics) Hands-on Museum. STEAM education is a nationwide initiative that creates critical thinkers, increases science literacy, and enables the next generation of innovators. At the museum, students interacted with a humanoid robot, saw a 3-D printer in action, and built a parabolic arch, among other activities. Every student regardless of ability or age was fully engaged. It was organized to peak student interest and allowed students to explore the various stations at his or her own pace.
