On April 23, 2016, a team from the United Methodist Church of Summit went to CUMAC, a non-profit organization dedicated to feeding people and changing lives in Paterson NJ. The team brought with them 85 pounds of donations of nonperishable foods, and spent several hours volunteering in the CUMAC warehouse. Tasks included sorting food for distribution and preparing household goods for sale.
CUMAC has been a vital ministry in Paterson for more than 30 years, currently feeds over 3,000 low-income people a month, and relies heavily on donations from individuals and groups.
