Watchung Boy Scout Troop 32, chartered to Wilson Memorial Union Church within the Patriots’ Path Council, honored three young men for achieving the rank of Eagle Scout during a dinner on February 10th in Watchung. Pramath Kalelkar’s Eagle Project constructed milkweed gardens in the Wagner Farm Arboretum Children’s Garden to advance the knowledge and preservation of monarch butterflies and milkweed plants. Michael Erickson’s Eagle Project built four cedar wood and plexiglass bird feeders and planted perennials around the St. Mary’s – Stony Hill prayer garden. Ryan Desai’s Eagle Project created a concrete slab for the Watchung Fire Department for a roof training obstacle to help crews learn chainsaw roof cutting techniques for smoke ventilation.
Dr. Richard Wellbrock was honored by Troop 32 with the James E. West Fellowship gift to endowment for his service to the troop for over 30 years. Dinner attendees included boy scouts, troop families, troop leaders past and present, Eagle Scouts from prior years, Watchung Mayor Stephen Pote, Watchung Mountain District Advancement Chair Bill Schulz and Watchung Mountain District Executive Charlean Mahon.
