11 Students At Watchung Hills Selected For Central Jersey Regional Chorus
Eleven student singers at Watchung Hills Regional High School have earned appointment to the New Jersey School Music Association (NJSMA) Central Jersey Regional Chorus.
Choral music teacher Angela DiIorio Bird said it is significant to have so many students from one school selected for Regional Chorus.
“More than 500 students auditioned for these prestigious choruses,” DiIorio Bird said. “This is a tremendous honor for the school. The choruses feature the top singers throughout all of Central New Jersey. The audition process is extensive. Students worked with me twice a week to prepare for their audition.”
Rehearsals are held in January. The concert will be held on Saturday, Jan. 30, at Monroe Township High School.”
The students selected include: For the Women’s Choir: Kyra Anthony, freshman, Soprano II; Angelina Carrano,
freshman, Soprano II; Anchal Dhir, freshman, Soprano II; Allison Horvath, junior, Soprano I; Hannah Melillo, junior, Alto I; and Veronica Mu, junior, Alto II.
For Mixed Choir: Eric Bautista, senior, Tenor I; Nikhil Bhat, junior, Tenor II; Angela Celeste, senior, Soprano II; David Kalwicz, senior, Bass I; and Kira Leinwand, junior, Soprano II.
