Founded in 1938, the Squad has been an independent, non-profit corporation, staffed by volunteers, dedicated to providing emergency medical services (EMS) and safety training to the Mountainside community.
They are 100% supported by your donations and grants from the Boro of Mountainside and charitable foundations. New volunteers are always needed!
If you would like to join the Mountainside Rescue Squad, please download and fill out the application on the “Contact/Join” page of the website www.ems.22.com.
The crew who met with us were a friendly bunch that know how to get serious when it’s time to do their jobs…providing emergency medical services to the community. Many of the up and coming members are 16 years of age and currently taking part in the Watts Foundation Scholarship Program. Best wishes to Eric Pastore, Deputy Captain who was sick in the hospital while we were shooting these pictures.
