Writing Wizards

Improve your skills as a writer in Writing Wizards, a creative writing class taught by high school students. Students will learn writing through prompts and grammar lessons, and receive constructive feedback from both their peers and teachers. Writing Wizards aims to provide a safe space to share and workshop writing as well as a chance to learn and evolve your writing abilities! **
Creative Writing Group

Connect with your creative peers in the community with Creative Writing, a one hour opportunity to hone your writing skills. Each week, an optional writing prompt is provided, or you may write about anything you’d like. This is a fun, nonjudgmental way of expressing yourself, not a class.

Artificial Intelligence in the Job Search

In today’s job market, both employers and job seekers are increasingly using AI. HR departments and recruiters are utilizing AI-powered applicant tracking systems, while job seekers turn to AI tools like ChatGPT to gain an edge in the job market, causing a sharp increase in applications. We will concentrate on how to use AI to augment your search (and cover the pros and cons), but still give attention to the basics – researching, networking, and interview prep. Ken Cavanagh, certified career management coach and former Director of Advising at Gabelli School of Business at Fordham University, will lead the workshop in the Conti Room.*

Car Care & Maintenance for Teens

The pros from NP Fuel will come to the library parking lot to teach teens the basics in car care and maintenance for new drivers. Learn basic skills every driver should know like: how to check your oil, check your tire pressure, change your wiper blades, change a tire, and more. Open to High School students in grades 9-12.**
