Boy Scout Troop 129 England Exchange

Green Brook Boy Scout Troop 129 has been busy preparing for an exciting summer. They will be camping at the local Patriots’ Path Council Summer Camp Winnebago in Rockaway, NJ, and they are also bringing along 18 guests from the United Kingdom. Our yearly Townwide Dunellen & Green Brook Yard Sale proceeds go directly to the expense of this visit.

Last summer, a few scouts and parents visited a group in Portsmouth, UK, this group is known asNautical Training Corps (NTC). It is a National Maritime Training and Uniformed Youth Organization based in the south of England.

There has been an exchange of scouts and cadets for over 30 years and this summer, along with the week at scout camp, the group will be treated to some fun outings such as a trip to New York City, Dorney Park, and a Patriots baseball game.

The American Legion in Dunellen has been kind enough to offer to host our group for a few meals, and we will be serving them traditional American BBQ.

If you have any interest in this program, joining Boy Scouts or donating any monetary or other types of donations, please send an email to Laura Cheshire at Greenbrook129chair@gmail.com.
