Lillian Korecky Celebrates 100th Birthday
Lillian J. Korecky, former 50-plus year resident of Kenilworth, now residing at Westfield Senior Citizen Housing, celebrated her 100th birthday on March 16, 2023.
Lillian was born in Linden, NJ in 1923. She was married on Thanksgiving day in 1942 to Edward Korecky, and remained his partner for over 60 years.
Lillian and her husband Ed lived for over 50 years on Lee Terrace in Kenilworth, and raised 4 children while there: Lorraine Lospinoso of Cranford, NJ, Edward Korecky of Westfield, NJ, Karen Stallings of Kenilworth, NJ, and Kenneth Korecky of Newport News, Virginia.
Lillian and her husband owned The Seashell Pet Shop in Kenilworth for over 20 years. Lillian was a homemaker and part time employee of Two Guys Department Store previously in Union. NJ.
Lillian has 7 grandchildren, Michael Stallings, Kelly Ross, Edward Stallings, Jenny Madden, Alex Korecky, Sarah Korecky, and Jessie Korecky, and five great grandchildren: Charlie, Danny, Will, Henry and Teddy.
A pre-birthday party was held for Lillian at Senior Citizen housing on March 11, 2023, and a birthday party was celebrated on her birthday March 16, both given by her children who attended with their families, along with friends and relatives.
Lillian spends her time reading love letters from her late husband who served in the U.S. Army during World War II in the Battle of the Bulge. She enjoys Atlantic City and spends much time at home enjoying visits from her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
