Warrenbrook Holi Celebration 2023
Seniors recently celebrated Holi, the “Festival of Colors,” by dancing with Indian scarves to Bollywood music at the Somerset County-operated Warrenbrook Senior Center in Warren. Seema Moondra from Enjoy Explore India coordinated the event with the Warrenbrook Senior Center Manager Parul Patel.
Holi is a two-day event celebrated throughout India that marks the beginning of spring. The purpose of the holiday is to rejoice in the bounties of nature, honor farmers and their cattle, celebrate the rejuvenation of life on earth, renew friendships and build new relationships.
To celebrate Holi, people create designs with colorful powder, dance, engage in spring cleaning, light bonfires, and hold family get-togethers.
