FanWOOF Day

The weather cooperated fully for the first annual FanWOOF Day at Fanwood’s north side train station. A fantastic turnout of dogs and their humans celebrated our dog-friendly town.

Photo ops with the Paw Patrol, dog license sign-ups, Nerf giveaways and local pet-friendly vendors including premier sponsor K9 Resorts offered goods and services.

The highlight was certainly the Paw Parade, dogs dressed up for Halloween parading past the judges who picked Best in Show and other winners who received trophies. There were also raffles with prizes donated by the Fanwood Animal Hospital. Mayor Colleen Mahr presided over the contest, announcing the winners.

There was also story time inside the train station, dog-appropriate stories read by Ann Minski, president of the Fanwood Library Board of Directors. Ann invited everyone back to the train station when it becomes the temporary home to the library during its reconstruction beginning later this year.

Thanks to all proud dog owners who turned out today and who can now enjoy walking their dogs in our parks.
