The Long Hill 8th grade girls travel basketball team won the Sixth Annual Scott W. Andersen Tournament held in Warren. The team trailed for most of the first half in their semifinal game against
Warren but utilized a strong defensive effort in the second half to gain the victory by a score of 46-36. They then went on to defeat Clark 49-39 in a very exciting championship game. Long Hill had a 10 point lead early in the second half but Clark scored 9 straight points to cut the lead to just one. Long Hill answered with an 8-0 run and then held that lead for the remainder of the game. Alexa Santo, Scarlett Glasser-Nehls and Caitlin Bonnesen were the high scorers in the championship game with 13, 11 and 8 points, respectively. Alexa Santo was named the MVP.
