Rocktoberfest 2023
The Millburn Education Foundation is thrilled to announce the highly anticipated seventh annual Rocktoberfest. The vibrant and exhilarating community music festival and fundraiser takes place at Taylor Park on Saturday, September 9, continues to expand with two new stages (a total of four performance spaces), additional arts and fitness activities, and a broader array of music, food, and entertainment sure to please festival-goers of all ages. Event proceeds benefit the Millburn Education Foundation, which has donated nearly $4 million in gifts and grants to benefit the eight Millburn public schools and continues to enhance the schools via its grant system.
FUN FACT: The real Oktoberfest begins in mid to late September and lasts for 16-18 days!
“We are beyond excited to bring Rocktoberfest back to Millburn this year,” said Joanna Parker-Lentz and Micole Cohen Richter, event co-chairs. “We have curated an incredible lineup of artists from near and far and a range of activities that will undoubtedly make Rocktoberfest 2023 a highlight of the year. With an emphasis on showcasing local businesses, Rocktoberfest supports the community’s economic growth and fosters a stronger sense of unity.”
New to the event this year is the Main Street stage; the block from Taylor Street to Millburn Avenue will be closed at 4pm and includes folk/rhythm/blues/world music plus Little Explorers, a games and vendor expo geared towards young families sponsored by Explore Millburn. The Taylor Park Rose Garden will comprise the fourth stage and will feature low-sensory acoustic music. This area will appeal to those seeking a respite from the crowds and higher volume stages and is a great spot for a soothing, more intimate experience in a beautiful setting.
Music fans take note: the Rocktoberfest lineup is finalized! Over 30 bands will perform. This year’s headliner is The Gilfords, one of NYC’s premiere 80’s rock cover bands that regularly perform at top venues. Featured bands include festival favorites reggae/ska band Rudie Crew and hip-hop/funk/jazz band Toad & the Stooligans and local performers SOMA’s Autumn Jones and Stuff Bros. Fans can also sample an eclectic mix of acts such as Bollywood dancers, a fashion show, teen bands, and New Orleans jazz.
From the music to fitness activities, children’s entertainment as well as the beer garden, food, and shopping, Millburn will come alive with the pulsating rhythms and electrifying energy of Rocktoberfest 2023, promising an unforgettable experience for attendees of all ages.
