5K SUPER HERO RUN & FAMILY FUN RUN SET FOR OCTOBER 16TH

For the seventh year in a row, Fanwood Recreation hosts our community’s favorite running event… and this year, all runners are invited to reveal their true selves and come dressed as their favorite super hero! The Fanwood 5K Super Hero Run & Family Fun Run returns on Sunday, October 16th, at La Grande Park in Fanwood. The 5K Super Hero Run will begin at 9:30 AM. Before that, the one-mile Family Fun Run will begin at 9 AM in La Grande Park, and, of course, all children are also welcome to dress up as their favorite costumed characters. Plus, all participating Fun Run children will receive a super hero cape and mask, and automatically be entered in a raffle for gift cards. And free refreshments will await all finishers.
Pre-registered runners who want to avoid the lines the morning of the 16th will be able to pick up their numbers and t-shirts the day before, from 4–5:30 PM at the La Grande Park building.
The entry fee for the 5K is $25, $20 for USATF members and $30 after October 13th. The entry fee for the Family Fun Run is $10 with a t-shirt and $5 without. The race is fully sanctioned by the United States of America Track and Field (USATF) and is part of the New Jersey Grand Prix as a 500 point race.
All proceeds from the event go to the Fanwood Recreation Department, and will help to purchase new playground equipment, build new recreational facilities and expand recreational programs for local residents.
