4 Seniors Named National Merit Finalists

Westfield High School has been notified that four seniors have advanced to Finalist standing in the 2016 National Merit Scholarship program. In October the Westfield Board of Education presented certificates to the students, who at the time were named Semi-Finalists. Approximately 1 percent of students who take the Preliminary SAT test qualifies as National Merit semi-finalists and eventually receives the finalist status. They are the highest scoring entrants and are eligible to apply for National Merit scholarships. The program honors students who show exceptional academic ability and potential for success in rigorous college studies.
