The Millington Volunteer Fire Company is kicking off its post-Labor Day social calendar on Saturday, September 9th with the third incarnation of its highly acclaimed and longanticipated family friendly Annual Food Truck Festival. Food trucks, some from the furthest reaches of the State and all personally selected by the Fire Company’s epicures will gather at the Millington Fire House at 1891 Long Hill Road. Patrons should be prepared to have their senses assailed by the overpowering blend of alluring, rich, complex, and powerful aromas emanating from each and every truck as the chefs busy themselves sautéing, slicing, dicing, broiling, grilling, and roasting their way to a virtual cornucopia of exotic dishes guaranteed to sate even the healthiest and most diverse of appetites.
Not to be outdone, the Fire Company’s sommeliers and beer connoisseurs have sipped and gulped their way over these past few months to create an unparalleled selection of the most exquisite offerings of the grape and grain that will accentuate the subtle flavors of each and every viand and titillate even the most jaded of palettes. The finest Old and New World wines will be served along with the best selections of local craft breweries.
The day will be made complete by the mellifluous strains of rock, pop and jazz provided by the very best local bands that will permeate the late summer afternoon and evening air. At night’s end, sumptuous feast complete and many libations taken, the guests will make their way home, contented and happy to have been part of yet another magical and memorable Food Truck Festival provided courtesy of the Millington Volunteer Fire Company and already looking forward to next year’s gathering.
Everyone is invited to join Millington Volunteer Fire Company in this annual fundraiser beginning at 11 a.m. There will be entertainment to keep the children happy and games of chance for those adults who like to test their skill and luck. It is a unique opportunity to spend quality time with family and friends, catch up with neighbors after the long summer break, and meet new people. We look forward to seeing you.
