WATCHUNG LIBRARY FRIENDS SUPPORT TEACHERS

The Friends of the Watchung Library have announced a new way of building literacy and supporting education in Watchung. They are offering a discount for Watchung teachers on books, DVDs, and CDs purchased from the Friends’ in-library bookstore, Second Story Books.
This is the time of year when many teachers are building their classroom libraries, often using their own money. The Friends of the library have decided to help Watchung teachers by offering one book (of equal or lower price) for every three book purchased.
“Now is an especially good time for teachers to shop at Second Story books,” says Peggy Ellis, manager of the bookstore. “This summer we received an unusual number of donations of really beautiful books, including lots of good kids’ literature.”  Ellis says that the selection at the Friends’ bookstore includes hundreds of books, ranging from board books and read-aloud books for the youngest children up to fiction and nonfiction for young adults.
