Harding School’s Tails for Tales reading program

On April 8, 2019, The Kenilworth Board of Education recognized volunteers from Harding School’s Tails for Tales reading program at their Board of Education meeting. Tails for Tales is a homegrown program that has partnered with the Kenilworth School District along with The Bright and Beautiful Therapy Dog organization three years ago. The goal of the program is to encourage students to read at home. Students record their at-home reading and then all logs are entered in a drawing to win a visit. Elizabeth Smith and therapy dog, Valor, visit winning classes monthly. Sandra Everly and therapy dog, Kalee & Kathy Petrocelli and therapy dog, Murphy, visit Pre-K, BSI, and ELL students twice a month. The program is very popular among the staff and students who thoroughly enjoy reading to the dogs. Smiles abound when our furry friends visit Harding. Their time and dedication are greatly appreciated.
