Baseball Day Draws Families and Community Together

Florham Park Little League Baseball Day

Florham Park Little League, players, friends, families and surrounding community members, gathered for the annual “Baseball Day” held on April 23, 2022.

Baseball Day festivities were held at the Florham Park Recreation Center and included a parade with teams and coaches, a tricky tray fundraiser, games scheduled throughout the day, individual and team photos. The opening pitch ceremony included the first pitch by Mayor Taylor, National Anthem sung my Mia Cicarelli, and a welcome speech by League President Shawn Kelly.

Letter to the community

Florham Park Little League Board

We would like to thank everyone who came out to support our opening day festivities this past Saturday. It was great to have the kids be able to march down Briarwood in a parade onto Emmet 1. Given the circumstances of the past few years, it was the first sense of “normal” that our program was able to experience in quite some time. To be able to share that with our entire community was extremely heart-warming. We would like to extend thanks to the Florham Park Police and Fire Departments for their assistance in ensuring that our players had a “first class” escort.

In keeping with the theme of “thanks”, the Board would also like to thank all of our families for their continued support. The families and local businesses who donated to both our snack shack and tricky tray helped raise a Baseball Day Record of nearly $11,000 for our program! All of this money will be put back into improving our program, purchasing new equipment and finding ways to work with the town to enhance our facilities to ensure that our players continue to have the best experience possible.

Thanks to Gabe and Dionne Rhodes for once again handling our individual and team photos. They are both so easy to work with and are always willing to help out our program!

Lastly, a huge thank you again to the Baseball Day Committee and to all of the parents who volunteered their time this past weekend in the snack shack or at the tricky tray. As they say, it takes a village of volunteers to make a day like Saturday possible.

We look forward to a continued great Spring Season!
