Jason Ng Recognized at Boy Scout Court of Honor

Boy Scout Troop 32 held a Court of Honor at Wilson Memorial Union Church, on March 23, 2022. Boy Scout Jason Ng was recognized for attaining the distinguished rank of Eagle Scout and for his contributions to his community.

In attendance were the family and friends of Troop32, New Jersey State Senator Jon Bramnick, Mayor Keith Balla, Council woman Christine Ead and Councilman Pete Martino, Scoutmaster Emeritus Richard Wellbrock and Rev. Michael  Droege. Also in attendance was the beneficiary of Jason’s Eagle Scout Project, the Watchung Historical Committee, represented by Chris Vanderfliet.

Jason’s Eagle Scout Project benefited the Watchung Texier House Museum. Jason improved the World War I and World War II displays and created an exhibit to honor local WWII hero, Henry Long.

Henry Long flew a top secret mission to TriDuby in support of the Slovakian uprising against the Nazis. He humbly kept this to himself and was not awarded a Distinguished Flying Cross until 55 years later, when the mission was declassified. He was also honored by Slovakia and given honorary citizenship. You can find out more about Henry Long by visiting Watchung’s Texier House Museum.
