Summit Transitions to Smart911 Emergency Alert System

Emergency Notification System

The City of Summit announced its transition to the Rave Mobile Safety Smart911 emergency alert system, now in effect. Through Smart911, the city aims to enhance its emergency communications and provide a valuable tool for residents, members of the business community and first responders in emergency situations. The new notifications system promises to deliver accurate, timely, and comprehensive alerts, tailored to fit individual needs and situations.

The City of Summit previously used Swift Reach Network for emergency notifications until the system was acquired by Rave Mobile Safety. Citizens will now be required to opt-in to the new Smart911 system at cityofsummit.org/smart911 to continue to receive alerts. New subscribers should create a Smart911 profile online at smart911.com/smart911/ref/login.action?pa=summitnj or download the Smart911 app from the App Store or Google Play.

The City of Summit strongly encourages all residents and businesses to create a Smart911 profile. Having a profile not only ensures that individuals receive emergency alerts but also helps emergency services to respond more effectively by providing them with crucial medical and location information.
