Police Sgt. Muta Blanford was celebrated and honored at the Township Committee meeting held on, October 24th, 2023, as he embarks on his well-deserved retirement. Starting his law enforcement journey in 1997, Sgt. Blanford has dedicated 26 remarkable years to the profession, 19 of which were with the Chatham Township Police Department. From his invaluable contributions in the Detective Bureau and with the Morris County Prosecutor’s Task Forces to earning numerous accolades like the Exceptional Duty and Meritorious Service Awards, his impact has been immense. Beyond his duties, Sgt. Blanford passionately served as a DARE and LEAD Instructor, a committed PBA delegate, and coordinator for the Law Enforcement Special Olympics Torch Run.
