Jefferson Arts Academy’s Liberty Players Presents “Once Upon a Mattress”

Spring Musical “Once Upon a Mattress”

Elizabeth Public Schools

The Thomas Jefferson Arts Academy Liberty Players are proud to present the uproarious comedy “Once Upon a Mattress” on March 21, 22, and 23, 2024, at the Thomas Jefferson Arts Academy theater at 7:00 p.m. Audiences aged two to a hundred and two are sure to be delighted by this timeless classic.

Based on the beloved story of “The Princess and the Pea” by Hans Christian Andersen, “Once Upon a Mattress” revolves around a prince who is determined to marry a genuine princess. When a young woman arrives at his doorstep claiming to be a real princess, the prince’s mother puts her to the test by placing a single pea under a towering stack of mattresses and then instructing the young woman to sleep on them. Unable to sleep due to the pea, the woman exceeds the test—proving herself to be a genuine princess, as only a delicate soul could be so affected by a single pea. Therefore she proves that she is a real princess.

This production promises to captivate audiences with its wit and charm.

Tickets for “Once Upon a Mattress” are on sale now at tjtheater.org.

They will also be available for purchase at the box office on each night of the performance.
