Introducing Megan Kociolek, Director, Clark Public Library

My career began at Nutley Public Library in 2007, and I was managing the Children and Teen’s department by 2009. During my time there, I supervised a minor renovation of the children’s and teen areas of the library. Over my nine years at Nutley, the Library’s circulation of children’s and teen’s books and media went from 30 to 50 percent, our programming attendance increased drastically, and during my last year our Summer Reading Program had a record number 836 participants. I have served on various committees with the New Jersey Library Association, and I have presented multiple times at our annual library conference.
I started at Clark Public Library as the Director on April 17, 2017. The Library is a wonderful place in the Clark community. The staff is phenomenal, offering outstanding programming and providing excellent customer service. I am looking forward to working with them to build upon the services we already offer, expand our digital collections, and cultivate a deeper relationship with the community. The Library will be offering a Summer Reading Program for all ages starting June 19; patrons can stop in and sign up to win prizes for reading. The Children’s department will be offering programming all summer long that includes live animal visits, Lego workshops, and science events. Our Kick-Off Party for kids includes Building a Better World Magic Show with Brian Richards on Thursday, 6/29 at 7pm. Check our website for registration.
