Live Performances at the Union Public Library

The Union Public Library has two special live performances planned this fall at the Main Library.
Raconteur Radio returns to the Union Public Library on Monday, November 6 at 7 p.m. with their staged production of Casablanca. Raconteur Radio stages theatrical presentation of vintage radio plays, classic works of literature, pop culture parodies, and more. Celebrate the 75th anniversary of this classic film with a live radio show themed event featuring costumed actors, sound effects, music, and even commercial interruptions.
If you have forgotten the film, we will be showing the original movie version on Thursday, October 12 at 1 p.m. Watch the film, and then make plans to come by Monday, November 6 at 7 p.m. for Raconteur Radio’s adaptation of Casablanca.
On Saturday, December 2 at 3 p.m., join us for a special musical performance by acclaimed International Concert Violinist Dr. David Podles. His program titled The Big Stage- an Homage to Broadway, includes music from Phantom of the Opera, Cats, Fiddler on the Roof, Sound of Music, West Side Story, My Fair Lady, Hello Dolly, Chicago, Annie and more. If you missed his library performance in September, you will not want to miss him in December!
Acclaimed, International Concert Violinist Dr. David Podles of Riga, Latvia, is laureate of three prestigious international competitions and received a PhD in music from conservatory in Riga. He performed in symphony, chamber, opera and ballet theater orchestras both solo, in orchestra and on tour across Russia, including The Bolshoi and Kirov, throughout Europe and the U.S.  David has performed at Lincoln Center, Carnegie Hall, 92nd Y and at Top of the Rock at Rockefeller Center.
