“The Frugal Gardener” March 12

Please join the Hanson Park Conservancy on Tuesday, March 12, 2019 at 7:00 p.m. at the Cranford Community Center for the presentation, “The Frugal Gardener” with Virginia Lamb, Environmental Educator from Rutgers Home Gardeners’ School. Do you head off to the garden center each spring, visions of flowers bursting forth from your garden, only to be confronted by plant sticker shock? Come learn tips and tricks for achieving your garden dreams while staying within your budget. Topics covered will include getting your soil in tip-top shape, starting plants from cuttings and seeds, and some suggestions for plants that will give you the best bang for the buck.

Virginia Lamb is an Environmental Educator with over 20 years of experience in recycling, waste reduction, organic gardening and school gardening. A graduate of Stockton University, Virginia has worked as the recycling coordinator for Galloway Township and Monmouth County, where she was also a Master Gardener. She has been a freelance educator/consultant since 2000. Clients include Rutgers University, Footprint Power and many environmental groups, garden clubs, and private companies throughout the region. Virginia is working towards her MS in Soil Science at UMass Amherst and lives with her family in Maplewood, NJ.

The Cranford Community Center is located at 220 Walnut Ave. in Cranford, NJ. The program is free and open to the public.
