Summit Police and Fire Departments Walking the Runway on February 28 for Charity Event

Summit Police Department and Summit Fire Department are participating in the 7th annual Red Carpet Party at Canoe Brook Country Club on 1108 Morris Turnpike in Short Hills, NJ at 7PM on Thursday, February 28, 2019. The evening includes cocktails, dinner and a fashion show with police officers and firefighters taking the runway to benefit Family and Children’s Services of Union County.

“The Summit Police Department is pleased to join Summit and Millburn firefighters to raise money for disadvantaged and traumatized children, youth and families,” explains Chief Robert Weck. “It is going to be a fun evening and I hope that the community will come out and cheer us on as we make our modeling debuts for a great cause.”

Members of the public are invited and encouraged to attend. Tickets are $125 each and can be purchased online at https://facsrc19.givesmart.com.

“This will be our third year of proudly participating,” reports Summit Fire Chief Eric Evers. “This event is as much about community building as it is about raising money for children and families. We look to once again setting the runway on fire to benefit Family and Children’s Services.”

Sponsors for the event include Title Sponsor, Frontline Insurance, Investors Bank Foundation, MCM, Wine Library, Arista Financial, Audi Bridgewater & Mendham, Bloomingdale’s Short Hills, Graham-Pelton Consulting, Choice Dermatology, Schultz & M. Blaustein, ShopRite Springfield and Hallak Cleaners.

Family and Children’s Services is an independent non-profit behavioral health and social service agency serving Union County and the surrounding area. Founded in 1893, the agency focuses its work on at-risk, disadvantaged and traumatized children, youth and families.
