Chatham Farmers’ Market Opening Day June 15th

Farmers’ Market opening day on Saturday, June 15th

The Chatham Borough Farmers’ Market will be celebrating our 13th season this year with our opening day on Saturday, June 15th, 2019. The market runs every Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. rain or shine, ending on November 23rd.

Come meet all our new vendors and stop by the Chatham Borough Farmers’ Market booth to learn about our new “Bring a Bag, Take a Bag” and “Say NO to Plastics” initiatives. Starting June 1st, there will be a collection box placed in the Chatham Borough Hall to collect all no longer wanted reusable bags. We will also have a collection bin at our market and market attendees will have the opportunity to either take a bag or leave a bag. This initiative, brought to you by the Department of Community Services, aims to lower our town’s single use plastic products to better the environment. #BringYourOwnBag

Our Jersey Fresh Certified market features local produce and artisanal products that everyone in the family will enjoy. This season, we are very excited to welcome back out returning farmers, including Melick’s Towne Farm, Snoep Winkel Farm, Silver Lake Far, and Brow Leaves Farm. We’re also welcoming some new vendors into our market family, such as Humor Me Farm, Jess Bakeshop, and Jaël’s Natural. Humor Me Farm will be bringing their eco-friendly harvested alpaca fiber to the market through hats, gloves, socks, pillows, and much more. You can even catch them spinning their alpaca fiber at the market every day to demonstrate how fiber becomes yarn. Jess Bakeshop will be offering fresh baked products throughout the season, specializing in artisan sourdough, French breads, pastries, cakes and cookies. As with all our other vendors, they believe in using natural and high-quality ingredients in their baking process. Jaël’s Natural local handmade soaps are made with their “simple honest ingredients” that are free of parabens and dyes. All their ingredients can be found on their label, including olive oil, canola oil, shea butter, cocoa butter, etc.

If you have any questions or are interested in becoming a market vendor, please contact Janice R. Piccolo, Director of the Department of Community Services, at piccolo@chathamborough.org or 973-635-0674 x200.
