6th Annual Berkeley Heights Summer Festival and Street Fair

The annual Suburban Chambers of Commerce Berkeley Heights Summer Festival and Street Fair will take on a down-home, local flair when the sixth edition kicks off on Sunday, June 24, 2018.
This year’s festival, expected to draw nearly 20,000 people, will be a showcase featuring local talent, companies and restaurants, according to event coordinator Paul Neuwirth, owner of Taylor Rental Center. “From free carnival rides to a new, improved Beer Garden, hosted by Delicious Heights, to more local vendors, this year’s fair will provide local businesses the chance to give back to the residents of Berkeley Heights,” said Mr. Neuwirth.
This year’s event will include a host of new activities. The inaugural Summer Festival Battle of the Bands competition will be held on the main stage, provided by Union County. Local dance, musical performers and martial artists will also be featured on the stage.
A new Touch-A-Truck area, featuring vehicles from the township, county, and local contractors, will be available on Springfield Avenue for young kids to explore. Sponsorships for this family-friendly event are still available.
Children’s activities, many of them free of charge, will be located in a central Festival area, thanks to area businesses sponsoring inflatable attractions and pony rides. The street fair will also feature a Health and Fitness area, showcasing local fitness facilities and medical providers from the Berkeley Heights area. As always, merchants, crafters and artisans, many local, will be displaying and selling a variety of items.
The festival will be held on Springfield Avenue, between Snyder and Plainfield Avenues from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Craftspeople, food vendors and restaurants looking to display at the street fair can contact the Suburban Chambers of Commerce office at info@suburbanchambers or 908-522-1700. Those looking to being involved on a sponsorship level are asked to contact Mr. Neuwirth at Taylor Rental in Berkeley Heights, 908-464-9111.
The event is sponsored by the Suburban Chambers of Commerce, which includes the towns of Berkeley Heights, Summit and New Providence. Funds raised through sponsorship support the local community with programs such as the Vest A Cop program and college scholarships.
