J unior Gi rl Scout Troop 41103 from New Providence earned their Bron ze Award by helping t he homeless. The Bronze Award is the highest honor a Girl Scout Junior can achieve. E ach g irl completed over 20 hours of service working on various projects that helped the homeless. Their proj ects included, raising awa reness of homel essness by creating a Homeless Scarecrow for the Scarecrow Stroll in New Providence, decorating a homeless themed Christmas tree for the Festival of Trees at the Somerset Environmental Center, cooking and serving meals at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Elizabeth, making 200 fresh and sustainable lunch bags for Bridges, sorting food at the Hillside food bank, looming winter hats, making fleece scarves and holding various drives that collected winter coats, winter hats, knitted hats, books, and eyeglassesTroop 41103would like to thank their community who supported them by donating various items that helped the homeless.
