Students in Ms. Tornquist’s second grade classroom created a craft to remember the events and heroes of September 11, 2001. Ms. Tornquist led students in a group discussion about heroes and what makes someone a hero. Students broke into pairs to discuss what makes someone brave and heroic. Students discussed the heroes of September 11th and heroes in our own community. As a closing activity, students worked on a craft in the shape of a heart with the American flag. Two towers were fixed to the heart in remembrance of all the heroes of September 11th.
