Monday Night Trivia: 90’s Music (Vauxhall Library)

Are you a fan of REM or the Spice Girls? Do you still dance the Macarena or the Cabbage Patch? Come join us as we test your music knowledge for fun and prizes.

Voter Registration Table (Main Library)

Mon. 8/12 @ 5:00 – 7:00 pm              

Join us with the Union County Board of Elections while they host a voter registration event. If you are not signed up to vote in this upcoming election, stop by and get registered to vote. Gain information on the election and get any of your election / registration questions answered.

Celebrating 100 Years of James Baldwin: A Community Discussion (Vauxhall Library)

Join us at the library with other members of the community as we honor the life of iconic American writer and civil rights activist, James Baldwin.

Adult Zentangle Workshop (Main Library)

Tues. 8/13 @ 6:00 pm

In a 90 minute color Zentangle class with Mimi, you will explore meditative drawing with the use of different color options, such as: gel pens, toned papers colored pencils, watercolors, and charcoal pencils to give vibrancy and ‘pops’ of color to your Zentangle creations. Registration is limited and will open near the beginning of August.

Build Up Your Balance (Main Library)

Through gentle exercises and stepping strategies, learn to keep your body balanced in different situations. Give this popular class from the YMCA a try!

Taste of New Orleans (Vauxhall Library)

Please join us as Chef Jesse Jones returns to the Vauxhall  Branch Library for another informative and tasty cooking demonstration. Chef Jesse Jones will be preparing a New Orleans favorite, Chicken and Turkey Sausage Jambalaya. Chef Jesse Jones is a renowned chef and author known for his modern approach to southern cuisine.

Come explore UPL Island! Check out our inclusive virtual library building that serves children, teens, and adults. Do you have Unclaimed Property? (Vauxhall Library)

The Unclaimed Property Administration of NJ will be coming to the Vauxhall, learn what is called unclaimed property and what documents are needed to claim yours. Unclaimed property is not physical property such as a home or items. It could be an uncashed payroll check, bank account, security deposit, insurance refund, bonds, unredeemed gift certificates, or any other funds that are not claimed or considered abandoned after a certain time frame. They will also be doing free searches for attendees to see if anyone has any unclaimed property.

Walk-in Wednesdays: One-on-One Library Technology Assistance (Vauxhall Library)

Get help with library resources, including downloading e-books from Libby and Hoopla, using the library catalog and resources, using mobile print, and using the photocopier and scanner. Reservations are not required.

Hula Hooping for Adults (Vauxhall Library)

Weds. @ 6:00 pm on 8/7, 8/14, 8/21, 8/28

Hooping conditions your core, works on proper body alignment, boosts flexibility and stability and lowers stress with an exhilarating aerobic total body weight loss workout. Please join us outside the Vauxhall Branch Library for this unique and fun adult exercise program. Please bring your own Infinity Hula Hoop as supplies are very limited.

Join Bindu Bhatt for virtual meditation sessions. No prior experience is necessary. Bindu has practiced meditation for over 30 years and wants to share her insight.
