“TASTE OF SUMMIT” MARCH 26TH

On Sunday evening, March 26, 2017, from 6:00pm to 8:30pm come dine and socialize with your family, friends and neighbors at the 30th Annual “Taste of Summit” hosted by the Grand Summit Hotel located at 570 Springfield Avenue in Summit. The “Taste of Summit” is a gourmet extravaganza featuring more than 20 of Summit’s finest restaurants and food merchants. Each restaurant will be serving delicious “tastes” showcasing their special dishes spanning many cuisines, including Italian, Japanese, American and Mexican. There will also be scrumptious desserts from Summit’s finest bakers and a cash bar.
A very special chef from YouTube’s “Cooking with Nonna” fame, Rossella Rago, will be joining us at the Taste this year. Rosella will be signing copies of her just-published debut cookbook “Cooking with Nonna”. With easy-to-follow step-by-step instructions and mouthwatering photos, her cookbook will take you on a culinary journey through Italy, featuring over 100 classic Italian recipes, along with advice and stories from 25 beloved Italian grandmothers.
The Taste of Summit is an event for the entire family. While parents indulge in their favorite “tastes”, children ages six through twelve will be enjoying their own eats and special activities while listening to music from local favorite Paul Fessock of Summit’s World of Rock.
During the Taste of Summit, we will draw the winning raffle ticket for a Private Craft Beer Dinner for the winner and 19 guests. The craft beers will be supplied by NJ’s Kane Brewery and the food will be catered by chefs from the Grand Summit Hotel’s HAT Tavern. The $10 raffle tickets are now on sale at the Carter House located at 90 Butler Parkway in Summit (Tuesdays 9am to noon and Wednesdays 1pm to 4pm) or at the HAT Tavern (Monday to Sunday 11:30am to midnight). There are only 600 tickets for sale and they are going quickly – so buy one soon!
The Taste of Summit is the key fundraiser for the Summit Historical Society, an all-volunteer not-for-profit organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the history of Summit through the Carter House Museum and its archives. All of the funds raised will help the Society continue its mission of safeguarding records, documents, maps, books and artifacts as well as antique furnishings and clothes connected to the history of Summit and making them available to the public at the Carter House, which is the oldest house in Summit.
Tickets for the Taste of Summit are on sale now; priced at $50 per adult and $20 per child (ages 6 through 12).
