Students Visit the Oswald J. Nitschke House

Mrs. DeMaio’s 2nd grade class from St. Theresa School in Kenilworth visited the historical Oswald J. Nitschke House. The children toured The Teaching Garden enjoying the sweet smell of lilac. The garden was funded by a grant from Merck Foundation.
Wearing early century clothing, Mrs. Shari Combs-Tlack and Mrs. Pat Hubinger, known as Mama Hub, spoke to the children about common household items and how they were used years ago. The children toured the fully set dining room and in the living room they enjoyed hearing music from an old Victrola.
At the end of the tour the ladies gave each child a pumpkin.
