Scotch Plains Announces Music and Movies on the Green

The Township of Scotch Plains will present Concerts on the Green and Friday Family Movie Nights this summer at the Alan Augustine Green, 430 Park Avenue. Concerts will be held on Thursday evenings at 7:30 p.m. on July 13th, 20th, and 27th, and August 3rd.
All shows are free. Please bring a lawn chair or blanket; pack a picnic or pick up dinner from one of our great restaurants and enjoy the summer nights in our downtown!
The concert lineup includes:
July 13 – Pat Dinizio of The Smithereens – Pat is a Scotch Plains resident and is the founder, principal songwriter, guitarist, and vocalist for the platinum recording artists The Smithereens. He’s performed on top-rated television programs such as The Tonight Show, MTV Unplugged and Saturday Night Live as well as on stages all over the world.
July 20 – The 80’s Explosion – A musical look back at the Decade of Decadence! From One Hit Wonders to the iconic bands from the 80’s, The 80’s Explosion delivers their unique take of all the songs of the era.
July 27 – Wolf Creek – is another Scotch Plains based band bringing the very best of: Today’s Country, Classic Southern Rock, and Rock with a “Country Feel.”
Aug 3 – Brother John Brown Band – 60’s & 70’s Classic Rock you grew up with!
Concerts on the Green Series are sponsored by Investors Bank with additional support from K9 Resorts, Daycare and Luxury Hotel.
Friday Night at the Movies this year provides something for everyone. Movies begin at dusk and the schedule is as follows:
