Join the Duffy family for a collection of photographs from around Union County. Information on where to go and how to find our local wildlife will also be covered as well as other information about what can be seen in Rahway and Union County.

Teen Events

Introduction to Programming:
Beginning on Saturday, July 22 at 10:00am,
the Rahway Public Library will be offering an eight part series on computer programming. By the end of the series, students will be able to compose simple scripts and programs. Space is limited and registration is required. Please call (732)340-1551 x. 214.

Teen Summer Reading Challenge:
Pick up a Teen Reading Challenge sheet at the Reference Desk. Complete 3 of the challenges listed and bring the form back to receive a token prize. This will also enter you into a Grand Prize raffle for a Kindle Fire at the end of the summer.

 Build A Better World Teen Movie Series:
Join us at 2:00pm on Mondays in July and August as we screen films that will inspire you to Build a Better World for you, your family, and your community! These films will be free, PG-13 rated, and shown in our surround sound auditorium. All are welcome to attend.
July 10, 17, 24, and 31. August 7 and 14.

Teen Thursday Activity Afternoons:
Join us in our Discovery Studio for a different activity each week at 2:00pm.

  • 7/13:  Show us how you will Build a Better World with a “brick” you will decorate and hang in the Discovery Studio.
  • 7/20:  Bring in a plain white T-shirt. Get creative with our fabric markers/paint/other stuff!
  • 7/27:  Teen DIY: Meditate and clear your mind while painting a rock mandala.

Children’s Events

Take and Make Mondays:
On Mondays starting July 10th
drop by the library to take a craft-in-a-bag home. Make it, take a picture, and tag it to the library’s Facebook or Instagram accounts.

Toddler Time:
We will be talking, singing, reading, writing, and playing during this literacy readiness storytime. Ages birth – 4 with caregiver:

Lego Club:
Make something out of Legos and put it on display! Ages 5+.

BINGO:
Have a blast playing BINGO at the library! Ages 4+.

Make a STEM project at the library. Ages 5+.

Volunteers from Union County 4-H will make science experiments with kids. Ages 7+.

Kids Movie:
