Sunday Family Movie Matinee on Sunday, October 8 at 2:00 pm
The elderly Big Friendly Giant kidnaps ten-year-old orphan Sophie to help him on a mission to get rid of the evil, man-eating giants who have been invading the human world.  Rated PG.

Pajama Time Storytime on Tuesday, October 10 at 7:00 pm
Come in your PJs for our evening family story time! Stories, songs, and fingerplays for children ages 2 – 5 years old. Great for working parents and busy families.

Mad Science Workshop:  Electricty on Thursday, October 12 at 7 pm
This workshop introduces students to the fundamental concepts of electricity: circuits, conductors, insulators, and how electricity is converted for everyday uses. Students get to create different circuits, interact with plasma balls, discover “sticky” static electricity and make their own static energy chambers to take home.  For children in grades 3-6.  Registration is required.

Union County Division on Aging Services on Monday, October 16 from 10- Noon
Do you have a questions about services for seniors or their caregivers? The Union County Division on Aging will be at the Clark Public Library to answer them. Drop by anytime between 10am-12pm and get answers to your questions about: pharmaceutical assistance, home energy assistance, home care, home delivered or congregate meals, caregiver relief, medicaid, transportation, and other questions you may have.

Maker Monday on Monday, October 16 at 3:30 pm
Hear a story about pumpkins and then paint a pumpkin to take home with you!  This program is for children in grades K – 5.

Please be sure to bring a smock or old t-shirt as we will be working with paint!  Registration is required and will close on Sunday, October 15 at 10:00 am to ensure adequate supplies.

Adult Book Club on Monday, October 16 at 7:00 pm
We will be discussing “The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks” by Rebecca Skloot. Doctors retrieved cells from Henrietta Lacks, the descendant of freed slaves, and used them to create the first immortal human cell line grown in culture-with important consequences for cancer research, in vitro developments, gene mapping, and more. But they never told her or her family. Please speak with a librarian for information on obtaining a copy of the book.

How to Start a Small Business in New Jersey on Thursday, October 19 at 10:00 am
Join Solange Pimentel & Tilesha McCall from Taxation University, the training and outreach unit of the New Jersey Division of Taxation, for this two hour workshop on starting a small business in New Jersey. This course will teach you how to register a small business in New Jersey, including legal entity registration and individual structured business registration, different business structures, and how to report your New Jersey business income. Registration is required.

Medicare Workshop on Thursday, October 19 at 6:00 pm
Justin Lubenow of Senior Advisors will present this informative workshop on what you need to know about Medicare. What changing in 2018? Discover the 5 biggest mistakes made by most Medicare beneficiaries, learn about the Medicare supplement policies, and how the Medicare prescription drug program works. What are some of the proposed changes to Medicare in the future? A question and answer period will follow the presentation.

Star Wars Light Saber Class with Fit FUNd Kids on Sunday, October 22 at 2:00 pm
Train like a jedi in this Star Wars inspired workout class with Fit FUNd Kids!
Little Jedis unite!  Kids use a saber as part of a martial arts infused class.  The class focuses on proper form, agility, balance, and most importantly, focus!  For children ages 3-10.  Registration is required.

Afternoon Book Club on Tuesday, October 24 at 1:00 pm
We will be discussing “The Cuckoo’s Calling” by Robert Galbraith. Working as a private investigator after losing his leg in Afghanistan, Cormoran Strike takes the case of a legendary supermodel’s suspicious suicide and finds himself in a world of multi-millionaire beauties, rock star boyfriends, desperate designers, and hedonist pursuits. Night at the Library on Thursday, October 26 at 6:30 pm
This special event is for the students of Frank K Hehnly and Valley Road Schools.
There will be an art show, bookmark creating, scavenger hunt, and dance party with prizes!
Our regular Storytime sessions will continue through the month of October.

Tales for Tots on Mondays or Thursdays at 10 am
Stories, finger plays, and songs for active listeners.  Geared toward ages 2-3 with a caregiver. Older children are welcome!  30 minutes of open play follows.

Baby Bookworms (formerly called Lapsit for Little Ones) on Tuesdays at 10 am
Stories, songs, nursery rhymes, and movement.  Geared toward babies and toddlers under 2 years old with caregiver.  30 minutes of open play follows.
