Month of the Horse

June is the month of the horse, so to celebrate and educate, SCLSNJ’s North Plainfield branch invited Tor and Zorro to their branch on June 29th for fun, games, crafts, and, most importantly, a little reading. Visiting patrons learned the appropriate way to approach and interact with a horse, how to pet and groom a horse, and were able to take a photo with one of the visiting quadrupeds.
If you would like to read a book about horses, youth services librarian Amy Behr recommends “Misty of Chincoteague” by Marguerite Henry for fiction lovers, and “Horses!” by Gail Gibbons for those who prefer non-fiction. Both books, and more, can be found at SCLSNJ.org.
