Gregg F. Clyne Memorial Foundation Scholarship Award

The Gregg F. Clyne Memorial Foundation, Inc., a 501 (c) 3 non-profit organization recently granted a four-year scholarship award to Cranford High School graduate, Erin Readie, who will be attending the University of Delaware in the Fall.
On Thursday, June 29th a pizza (and chicken slider) party was held at the Clyne’s home in Westfield for the past and present scholarship recipients. The University of Delaware scholarship recipients are always so enthusiastic talking about and sharing their experiences. This annual gathering is especially helpful to the newly awarded student who is preparing to embark on the next stage of his/her life… college. It is wonderful to see them conversing, laughing and enjoying their time together.
Along with the scholarship recipients, Brittany VanSickle (2008), Anthony Valles (2012), Alexandra Beck (2013), Kathryn Contini (2013), Victoria Guerriero, (2014), Kayleigh Denner (2015), Andrew Harting-Smith (2015), Brittany Hogan (2016) and Erin Readie (2017) the get-together was attended by board members, Patricia Walsh and Mary Friedman.
Family and friends established the Foundation in 2008 to honor Gregg’s memory and his wish to provide educational opportunities for others. Gregg died in August 2006 at the age of 27 after battling a rare form of cancer (adrenal cortical carcinoma) for four years. Since the Foundation’s inception, scholarship grants have been awarded to seventeen local area high school students matriculating at the University of Delaware.
