Father Andy to be Inducted at Trinity Cranford – Sun. Sept. 10th

On Sunday September 10, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. The Right Reverend William H. Stokes, the 12th Bishop of the Diocese of New Jersey, will formally induct the Reverend Andrew David Kruger as the Priest-in-Charge of Trinity Episcopal Church,119 Forest Avenue, Cranford, NJ. “We are so happy to officially recognize Father Andy’s ministry here at Trinity Cranford”, said Dave Burnett, Trinity’s Senior Warden. During the ceremony, Father Andy will be presented with a series of gifts including a Bible, stole, prayer book, oil, and keys to the church to highlight different aspects of his priestly duties. “We invite everyone to join us to celebrate this very special event in Trinity’s history”, Mr. Burnett added. A reception will follow the induction.
Father Andy was ordained an Anglican priest in November 2011 in South Africa. In 2011 and 2012, he was Curate at the Cathedral of St. Michael and St. George, Grahamstown, SA. In 2013, he served as Assistant Priest of the Parish of St. Faith’s, Durban, SA. From January 2014 until December 2016 he was the Rector of the Parish of Umkomaas with Scottburgh, SA. He began his ministry at Trinity Cranford on Feb. 5, 2017. Farther Andy has a Masters in Theology from the University of Kwa-Zulu Natal, South Africa. He was coordinator of the Liturgical Task Team for the Diocese of Natal and has been a member of the Secretariat of the Anglican Church of Southern Africa’s Prayer Book Revision Committee. Father Andy has broad experience in intergenerational pastoral care, youth ministry, and parish growth. He can speak three languages and read four including New Testament Greek. His wife Heather recently began her doctoral studies in Astrophysical Sciences at Princeton University. They both enjoy music and Heather plays the flute.
